Buried in Leaves
Autumn breeze catches the leaves
A flutter of wings beating
And the ground is covered
In orange and brown.
The scent of summer remains
Discreetly hidden
Between blades of the grass
And in the morning dew.
I watch the blue sky fade
As a lazy haze settles over
The sun is a golden ball
And I'm buried in the fragrant leaves.
