Lonely Heart

Note: This post is inspired by a movie I watched weeks ago. And I can't remember it. Must be all the crap I stuffed into my head during my exam.

I'm clinging to the last shimmer of hope
Like a single ray of light through the gloom
Yet it treads barefooted on broken glass
And eventually fades away.

The sun pours its heat onto earth
My skin feels scorched
Yet deep down in my heart
The gelid cold remains untouched.

Why do I seek isolation
When I am already lonely?
The dark envelopes me in a tight embrace
And I am hidden, from the world.
